What is it?

A wet workout designed to stretch, tone and shape your body using a variety of techniques including modern dance , ballet, aerobic, martial arts forms.
What  equipment is necessary?
Styrofoam water weights (dumbbells), ankle weights, waist belts , and noodles, swimming  fins,  ( especially used for deep water routines}

Total transformational therapy in the pool

The intrinsic value of water rehabilitative therapy is overlooked by  many. The oblivious physical strengthening and  breath building capacity is clear.  The hidden key to the person’s come back as an alive , proactive individual is important  to observe. The water is soft , supportive and easy to exercise in. It seems as if each one opens up like a new bud and starts to blossom at his or her own pace. It is particularly miraculous after a surgical procedure or an accident. Their life force and their “will to live”, become ignited once again.  They are able to see and feel the results so quickly that they in fact stay motivated and keep on riding the momentum of each victorious effort. They open up emotionally and their mental bodies turn back on. Before they know it they are in the swing of things socially. They become less withdrawn and more outgoing in their facial expression, body language and general communication. The barely audible almost non-verbal ones become more  energetic and they show signs of laughing and relaxing in their  daily functions .They  demonstrate an enhanced  quality of life.

Pool exercising is particularly crucial when a person is not strong enough to walk or stand up on their own. They become a high risk for falling and thus their  gym therapy at rehabilitative  facilities are of ten curtailed for seniors who are extremely frail.  At this point Water works is essential. It is crucial to work one on one or in small groups  in the warm liquid pool. Here it seems very comfortable and effortless to move around safely. There is nothing to bump into and the density of the water acts like a soft cushion around the person’s body to gently caress and support them.  The light blue smooth pool surface is emotionally inviting and peace producing. The overall effects are less taxing then on land and much friendlier and more gratifying in a shorter time period.

Using water flotation devices as well as water shiatsu and massage in combination with music, exercise  and dancing is transformational.  Their entire outlook on life changes for the better.
